Dr Renata Hołda graduated in ethnology before receiving a doctoral degree in history, with a specialization in ethnology, from the Jagiellonian University in 2002. In her research she focuses on contemporary culture and issues relating to history, memory and politics from an anthropological perspective. Her most important publication is „Dobry władca”: studium antropologiczne o Franciszku Józefie I [“The Good Ruler”: an Anthropological Study of Franz Joseph I ] (2008). She gives lectures in the following subjects: Introduction to Anthropology, Anthropology of Popular Culture and Introduction to Social Communication.
