Dr Magdalena Banaszkiewicz graduated in International Cultural Studies and Russian Studies before receiving a doctorate in ethnology in 2010. Her research interests cover tourism, intercultural communication, as well as in the problems of Russia and the former countries of the Soviet Union. She authored two books Dialog międzynarodowy w turystyce. Przypadek polsko-rosyjski [International Dialogue in Tourism: the Polish-Russian case] (2012) and Turystyka w miejscach kłopotliwego dziedzictwa [Tourism in places of comfortable heritage] (2018). Her lectures include: Regional Geography and Anthropology of tourism.
